Invista Launches First Textile Research Center in China



Fiber specialist Invista launched the first textile research center in mainland China. With gross investment up to 7.3 million USD and total space over 3000 sqm, Invista continued to expand the China market.

The new research center was built in Qingpu, a district of Shanghai, China. Its foundation demonstrated Invista’s commitment to develop innovative technologies and products. It was planned to speed the development and application of new fabric and to enhance customer’s competitive edge.

Executive vice president of Invista Dan Kotkin said, “Our vision for the apparel business is to create value through differentiation in areas such as products, operations and services, to help local customers give their products the edge they need to succeed in this highly competitive market. Building this research center, our fourth in the world, is a milestone in our strategic focus on China. We hope accelerate development and innovation in the apparel and textile industry in China. We will continue to deliver industrial innovations to Chinese customers.”

According to the press release, the new center will focus on application and commercialization of new fibers, fabrics and garment innovations. Besides, it will offer customers different texts and solutions on various aspects, including yarn knitting, dyeing and finishing.

Except for the Chinese research center, Invista owns other three facilities in US, Italy and Taiwan.
